An aide to Senator representing Southern Borno Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Iliya Adamu alongside six other persons have been rounded up by security operatives and taken into custody for alleged membership of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Daily Post reports.
According to a security source in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, the suspects were accused of planning terror attacks to be carried out in Abuja.
The source informed that those arrested along with the Senator’s personal assistant included; “Hamidu Adamu, Musa Mustafa, Yukubu Hassan, Saidu Hassan, Habib Hamma and Adamu Hamma. ”
It was gathered that all the arrested suspects are currently being interrogated and are giving security operatives information on their operation and those behind the plan.
Attempt to get Senator Ndume’s comment on the arrest of his personal Assistant did not yield result as at the time of compiling this report.

The Senator is still standing trial for a similar offence.
